We Are Open Again!

It is a happy day here at K9 Kaos. We have reopened and are thrilled to see the dogs once again. It was such a difficult decision to close, but ultimately I new it was the right decision to make for us. So here we are open and ready to move forward with some new protocols but with the same level of care for your dogs. I have asked my staff to wear masks for their protection and yours. We thank you in advance for also wearing a mask when inside our shop.

Daycare is open and operating normally with a little twist at drop off and pick up. For customers that prefer to stay in their vehicles, simply call/text us and we will come out to the car for you. For those customers that prefer to come inside we have a no contact drop off & pick up plan in place that we will you help with once you are inside.

Boarding is ready to go as well. We realize that not many are travelling at the moment but we are ready, willing and able to take overnight reservations. The big change here is that we are only accepting your dog’s food and medication and no other belongings during this time. We are asking that you leave bedding, toys, and big bags of belongings at home. You can buy a new toy in the store if you would like and we will provide all of the bedding your dog needs.

Grooming is chugging along. We would all like to thank you in advance for your patience while we attempt to catch up on all of the missed appointments that had to be rescheduled. Lauren & Deb are working very hard grooming and calling everyone that has called in so far. When you arrive for your appointment, call/text us from the parking lot. We will come out to the car to get your dog and bring them inside for their appointment. When we call to let you know that they are ready for pick up, we will take payment over the phone at that time. Then once you arrive back at K9 call or text us and we will bring your dog back to the car. If you prefer to come inside, it is your option.

Nail trims have been a hot topic all over social media. Our groomers do not recommend putting peanut butter on your forehead and doing it yourself…hahaha. If you haven’t seen that, google it for laughs. We are offering nail trims by appointment Monday through Friday. Please call, text or email us to schedule your dog’s nail trim. When you call to schedule, we will take a $15 payment over the phone. Nail trims will run curbside for now.

Self Serve Dog Wash is currently closed. We are brainstorming on a way for us to get this open for you. So keep an eye on our Facebook page for more information on this service.

Retail is open! We can do curbside or you can come inside to shop for your pet supplies. We can’t thank you all enough for your continued support and shopping local. It has helped and will continue to help us survive this crazy time. If you don’t already shop with us or other local independent pet supply stores in the area, please consider it.

Great question! I am monitoring the CDC website for information on this topic. At this point they are saying this: “At this time, there is no evidence that companion animals play a significant role in spreading SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Based on the limited data available, the risk of animals spreading COVID-19 to people is considered to be low. We are still learning about this virus, and it appears that in some rare situations, people can spread the virus to animals. Further studies are needed to understand if and how different animals could be affected by the virus, and the role animals may play in the spread of COVID-19.”
